American Airlines website now available in Catalan

American Airlines, a founding member of the oneworld® alliance, has added the Catalan language to its www.americanairlines.es web site, demonstrating the airline's strong commitment to the Catalonian market.

American will be the first US airline to offer a website in Catalan, as the world's largest airline prepares to launch its first non-stop flights between Barcelona and New York JFK which will be inaugurated on 25 April, 2008.

Customers will be able to conveniently book tickets online to New York and destinations beyond, as well as access all relevant travel information about their journey in Catalan.

"We're really excited to be adding Barcelona to our network and we hope that these new web pages will enhance the booking experience for our Catalan speaking customers," said Maria Sebastian, Vice President Sales and Marketing, Europe, Middle East and Africa.

The new website contains a host of information about travelling with American Airlines including information about airport facilities, details of American Airlines' airport clubs and lounges, local phone numbers, schedule and route map, baggage allowance and useful tips on airport security and travel documentation for a smoother journey. Customers can learn all about American's onboard products, including taking a virtual tour of the airline's recently enhanced business class product, as well as detailed information about its frequent flyer programme, AAdvantage, with the most relevant offers available for our European travelers.

The website features a convenient and easy to use booking tool to make reservations and purchase American Airlines itineraries. Customers can retrieve bookings made on the web, review itinerary details and request or modify special services requests. If the fare rules allow it, customers can book flights and put them on hold for up to one day before returning to purchase their tickets.

Customers will be able to access competitive fares to some of American's most exciting destinations as well as monthly AmericanDreamDeals specials.

American is celebrating the launch of its new flight with a special return economy class fare from Barcelona to New York with prices starting at 530.00 euros including all tax and surcharges.

American's new non-stop flight will operate daily during the summer season with five weekly flights during the winter season. The flight will be operated with a two-class (Business and Economy) Boeing 767-300 aircraft with 221 seats, including 30 Next Generation Business Class seats.
