AMERICAN AIRLINES SUPPORTS HAITI RELIEF EFFORT
Not flying doctors and nurses for free

Contrary to recent reports on Twitter, American Airlines can confirm that it is not offering free flights to doctors and nurses travelling to Haiti. It is not known who is responsible for this hoax but American can confirm that it is currently unable to transport passengers to the country while the airport remains closed to commercial flights.

American Airlines and American Eagle have, however, partnered with the Red Cross and last week flew aid into Haiti to provide relief for its more than 100 employees who work at Toussaint Louverture International Airport and for assistance at local hospitals in Port-au-Prince. Three American Eagle aircraft arrived in Port-au-Prince last Wednesday (13th) providing 30,000 pounds of supplies, including water, food and other non-perishable goods. Six further relief missions were also being planned, with timings depending on the ability of the Port-au-Prince airport to accept the flights.

In addition, American Airlines is also offering customers the convenience to change their plans if they are due to travel to Haiti in the coming weeks. Full information is available at www.aa.com or by calling reservations on 902 115 570.
