We have several check-in options available:
- Check-in desks are located in Terminal 1 between counters 301-304
- Self-service check-in machines are located in Terminal 1 within the check-in area
- Online Check-In is available from 24 hours and up to 2 hours before your flight departure time

American Airlines operates a number of clubs and lounges worldwide. At Barcelona Airport eligible customers can use the Sala Miró Lounge provided by AENA, where you can relax and unwind before your flight.

Guests

Transferring between flights is simple when you know how. Take a look at the tips below that will help you make a smoother connection at Barcelona Airport.
Where do I go once I’ve arrived at the airport?
Once you’ve arrived at Barcelona airport, follow the signs to your departure gate which will lead you to the correct terminal for your onward flight.
What happens if I do not have a boarding pass?
If you do not have a boarding pass you will need to see an American Airlines representative at the transfer area.
Do I have to pick up my luggage or re check-in again?
If your bags have been labelled to your final destination and you were given a boarding pass for your onward flight then your luggage will be taken care of.
How do I get between Terminals?
For connections between Terminals 1 and 2 there is a transit bus that departs every 7 minutes, which takes approximately 10 minutes and operates between 05:00 and 24:00. These buses leave ‘landside’ from outside of each terminal. There are no ‘airside’ inter terminal connections.
Which Terminal do I fly from?
All oneworld carriers including American Airlines, British Airways and Iberia depart from Terminal 1.

XClose Travelling To / From Barcelona Airport
When travelling to the airport, please allow yourself plenty of time. To help you on your way we have some travel suggestions below, but please check with the relevant operator before setting off to ensure you have the most up to date information.
Bus
There are several buses which operate to and from Barcelona Airport:
- Line 77 (Sant Joan Despí - Airport)
- Line 99 (Castelldefells - Airport)
- Line PR1 (El Prat del Llobregat - Airport)
- Line 46 (Plaza España, Barcelona - Airport)
- Line N17 (Plaza Cataluña, Barcelona - Airport)

Car
If you are driving on the C-31 road from Barcelona, continue until you approach the B-22 exit which takes you to Terminal 1. If you are starting from Castelldefells,
before the exit to Terminal 2, take the B-22 exit. On the C-32B road from Barcelona, take the C-31 junction (towards Castelldefells) until the B-22 exit which takes you to
Terminal 1.
Terminal 1 has two car parks, which are connected to the terminal via a walkway.

Train
The Renfe Line C2 (Maçanet - Sant Celoni - Airport)* is the suburban train which links the airport with the city centre and the Sants train station.
Bustransit* is a complimentary shuttle bus service that connects the train station at the airport with Terminal 1 and runs a synchronised service with the train.
