As an AAdvantage® status member, you have complimentary access to Preferred seats (if available) which have standard legroom and are more favorably located throughout the Main Cabin. We set aside a number of these seats on every flight for our premium customers and anyone traveling on full-fare Economy Class tickets. This benefit also applies to up to 8 passengers traveling with you in the same reservation.
Main Cabin Extra offers up to six inches of additional legroom to stretch out and relax. Located towards the front of the cabin, Main Cabin Extra seating (if available) allows easier boarding and deplaning.

AAdvantage Executive Platinum® members and 1 companion can book a full-fare ticket in the Main Cabin on sold-out American Airlines flights when you make your reservation at least 24 hours in advance (except on codeshare flights and flights to/from Venezuela).
If we're unable to confirm a First or Business Class seat on your preferred American Airlines flight, AAdvantage Executive Platinum® members will be placed on the top of the waitlist for the next available seat. Please call at least 24 hours prior to flight departure for this service. If you aren't confirmed before arriving at the airport, you can ask an agent to put you on the standby list.
AAdvantage Executive Platinum® members traveling in the Main Cabin on board American Airlines can enjoy a complimentary beverage from our standard alcoholic beverage selections as well as 1 snack. The snack includes any food item on our menu.*
